Sunday night thoughts...

The weekends just don't seem to last! I can't believe it's already 10:45 on Sunday night Blah Kevin isn't even home yet. He had to work at Radio Shack today 11am - 2pm then he had to go BACK at 7 until 10 we thought.. it's now 10:47 and he's still not on his way home. He's pissed off; he text me a little bit ago. He' thought he'd have been a long time ago. He's so exhausted these days. He's been working long hours; his normal job is M-F 8:30 to 5 (and some holidays & weekends actually), but he's also been putting in an extra appx 25 hours a week at Radio Shack plus the occasional bathtub liner. He's such a great husband; we've definitely been feeling things with the mess our economy is in. Unfortunately I hate to admit that we are among the people who were screwed back when we bought this house; the mortgage just went adjustable & the payments are ridiculous. We have been struggling and Kevin is stepping up to take care of us. It has been taking its toll on him though; he gets hardly any sleep, not to mention the little time he gets to spend with Lila or me these days. This has definitely been hard on us and we've had our fair share of battles but we are both working full time and he works as much extra time as he can. At this point we are learning to lean on each other and support each other and it is really bringing us a lot closer. I don't think in the 10 years we've been together I have ever loved Kevin more than I do now. I know he doesn't realize it, and I tell him often, but I am very proud of the man and father he has become. It's an awesome feeling to know that everything that we've been through has brought us closer & we have grown together, not apart over the years.

I am feeling kind of mushy tonight! I had a really nice weekend with Lila, despite Kevin working all weekend. Saturday Lila & I stayed home since it was a rainy and yucky day. She said she wanted to go the park & I knew that I needed to make it a fun day if she was going to burn off any of her endless supply of engery (where does she get that from??). We started the day cleaning up and we turned kids songs on the radio. She helped me get things done and once snack time rolled around I decided to make it special. I gave her apple slices with yogurt for dipping, but she helped me dye the yogurt with food coloring first. I gave her a paper plate & she used her apples to paint on the plate.

After snack we painted the little pumpkin she picked last weekend when we went pumpkin picking with Daddy & Aunt Em (my little sis). It was so much fun! She painted the pumpkin and when she was done she painted a bunch of pics that now cover my fridge. I'll be bringing one to work with me tomorrow to hang on my wall too!

I know I have more to say, but it's 11:20 & Kevin will finally be home in a few. It felt good to blog again! I need to keep up with this!
